Leaving Footnotes Of Creativity.

I just felt the need to share another terrain artist's work. I enjoy talking to people about how I make things and model. It is part of the social part of the hobby of wargaming. I have been told quite a few times that I could really sell a lot of my work. This is a compliment and I do sell some mats and terrain pieces. But in all honesty, I enjoy inspiring people more than anything. Why not encourage people to improve and aspire to make art?
So I met a guy named Mark Soon I met through a Facebook group called the Terraniacs. This group has quite a few good chaps in there who love to share ideas on terrain making. It sounds strange to use the word "Chaps" as an American, but why not! Mark is from Australia and was asking for idea for teddy bear fur. Originally, I think he wanted for me to make a mat, but it does not really matter. It is nice to see someone trying to make their own version terrain that I may have influenced. And as far as I can see, he is doing a pretty good job at. It is better in pictures than just saying so!

I am always amazed how teddy bear fur terrain reminds me of a Van Gogh painting from afar.

Some Australians are going to be lucky  to play on this!

As from I can tell, Mark used a lighter color than I have uses for teddy bear fur, but I think that enhances the green better. I really like how the color scheme flows with it. I am taking mental notes for future color schemes in future boards. The great thing is that he has a great start. He still has more stuff to do on it, so I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Hopefully, Mark will not mind that I posted this before it was finished.

  1. Hey David. Do you still use that Wahl clipper or have you had to replace it? I'm looking to purchase some pet clippers for the fur terrain but confused by all the different products. I'm kind of looking at the Wahl U-clip Deluxe. What are your thoughts?
    Thanks,

    Paul

    1. I just use a Wahl Dog Grooming Clipper that is about $20 to $30 dollars. They seem to cut the best. I haven't tried other dog grooming clipper companies mainly because the Wahl ones were the cheapest.
