AAR: What A Tanker: First Game of 2019.

Game One of this year has been played out! Kalissa and I decided to play some more games this year, since last year was a little lacking. I would not call it a "New Years Resolution" or anything like that. We just want to dust off some rules and models that have not seen much action on the table top.
If this case, we brought out our Canadian and German Armor from Sicily. Most of these were painted up for my Historicon 2017 Project. The game we decided to play was Too Fat Lardies: "What A Tanker" to peak some interest into Historical gaming in our area. We hope that we normally do, in general. The reason we choose this game was that it is easy to get into and we were testing a new game shop in Aberdeen, NC called "Beat Lab Gaming" I still keep thinking of the song "We've Got the Beat" by the Go Go's that is stuck in my head. You are welcome for that, by the way!
Somehow, there are more gaming stores at the moment in Aberdeen than in Fayetteville, NC that is much larger. However, a friend of ours mentioned on our Facebook Group: Cape Fear Wargamers about this place and that they had set up a historical wargaming day. This is something that our local area has not concentrated on in a while. Grant, a lot of this was based on Flames of War and Team Yankee players, but it is a start. Of course, Kalissa and I found no problem with this idea. The only issue is having on Wednesday evenings where that is a hit and miss with my retail working schedule.
For our first outing at Beat Lab Gaming, it was a good showing. We got to see some people we had only recently see only at conventions, since the closing of The Hobbit's gameroom. We did peak a few people's interest that were not the traditional historical gamers. This was even when I was starting to loose a few tanks. Kalissa ended up winning with the help of our friend, Eric who just learned the rules. This was great. Anyway, below are some shots of the game we ran!
