These were partial pictures of a rather large Napoleanic game Kalissa and I were a part of a our friend, Eric's. It was a lovely day for a game, since we played this outdoors. At this point, the pollen in the area was not kicking in as strong. There were three players to each side. This game was not a particular battle. It was a "meeting engagement" between French and Russian forces using some house rules. Kalissa ended up on the French facing against me. Both of us had orders to hold the town without each other knowing. I only decided to cross the river in front of me after a large amount of French forces had travelled on to the other side of the table. We did not get to play out the whole game, since I had been working a lot as of late. However, it was really nicely hosted by our friend, Eric. Hopefully, we will get to play another game like this in the future.
Wargaming and Such: This is mainly a blog for all other wargamers and similar hobbies to enjoy. My wife, Kalissa and I have been wargaming together, since my first wargame. We both started out playing Flames of War and have since broaden our interests in near all gaming. Though, we mainly play WW2 games, there are a whole range of interest we have. Hopefully, this blog and you all will get to see it all or close to it! Enjoy!

AAR: Lord of the Rings: Dead Marshes
This is another round of Lord of the Rings: Battle Companies. For a second game, I thought I would make a swamp board for it. For one, my wife was nice enough to bring home a bunch of cork to use from her school. And since I had some other leftovers for terrain, I thought I would make the Dead Marshes. This battle had Elves and Men versus Orcs. We made a house rule to make the water impassible to test the 'leap' rules. It did not go well for the Orcs. Since the Elves and Men had the longer range than the Orcs forcing them to engage in melee. Even though, the bow shooting was doing horribly, the water slowed down the Orc enough to have them engage piece meal. The best Idea was to probably wait a turn. Either way, only one person died outside of combat, which was my main leader who was sucked down into the swamp water. Anyway, here are the photos. Enjoy!

AAR: Bolt Action: A Game Demo.
On another day of Saturday gaming at our local Hobbytown, U.S.A., I met up with a gentleman named Neil to run a demo game. Normally, Kalissa and I tend to do these games at other conventions, so it was nice to play one in our area. Neil brought some British Paratroopers, but had to borrow a tank. So one of Kalissa's Cromwells would do. We did not really need to have tank, but I wanted to try to represent as many rules as possible in one game. I played rather normal, but left some moves to force certain situations. The whole point was to have fun and try out rules while still playing a full game. This was why I set up a table with a bit of everything other than hills and water features. Besides, I had to represent the game as best as possible.
So how was the game? It ended in a Draw. We played a basic "Meeting Engagement" mission to just kill. I lost two German squads, a sniper, a Panzershrek team, and a Marder III. Neil lost a FO, a sniper, a Cromwell Tank, and one squad of infantry. We managed to make it to turn seven, which spelled the end to a Marder III. Death by PIAT! It was all good fun like demos are suppose to be. Hopefully, we will have a rematch in the near future.
